Waukee Needs You

History Doesn’t Preserve Itself—It Takes People Who Care

Volunteers play a vital role in the work of the Waukee Area Historical Society. Locals help out by collecting stories, organizing events, and making history accessible to the community. Whether you love historical artifacts, planning events, capturing stories, or simply lending a hand, there’s a place for you here.

Whether you have a few hours per week or simply a day or two per year, there is room for you to volunteer with the Waukee Area Historical Society. Some volunteer roles are ongoing and allow you to leverage your skills while other roles are event-based and open to everyone.

Get involved in our volunteer opportunities because today is tomorrow’s history.
